      "Mid-Washington
      "Man is Crushed....
      "Wenatchee, Wash, Aug. 5. -- ***
      "Fred Hathaway, logger contractor for the Geat Northern Lumber company at Leavenworth, was instantly killed early today when a truck load of logs passed over his body. He had tied the brake rope on the truck to his body, and when the brakes broke, he was hurled to the ground directly in front of the machine."

      "Truck Accident Victim To Be Buried at Leavenworth.
      "Wenatchee, Wash., Aug. 6. -- The funeral of Fred Hathaway, who was killed at Leavenworth yesterday, when a truck passed over his body, will be held tomorrow at Leavenworth. He leaves his widow and three children."
