    • Eugene and his first wife Mary Jane were divorced 6 Jan 1948 at Ft. Benton, Chouteua Cnty, MT.
    • Washington state marriage records show that on 16 Sep 1948, Ora C. Manley, 34, of Seattle, WA, and Eugene V. Hamm, 54, of Portland ,OR, obtained a license to be married. Both had been divorced; this was the second marriage for each. Ora had been born in Iowa to Orin [sic] Curtis Wilkinson and Nancy Dickinson. Her occupation was "alteration" [presumably a seamstress]. Eugene was born in ND to James M. Hamm, born in Ohio, and Kate Smith, born in Canada. Eugene was employed as a machinist.
    • The 1951 Astoria, OR, City Directory lists "Hamm Eug V (Cheryl) h 18th av and Roosevelt dr (SS)," showing that Eugene and Ora Cheryl were living in Astoria at that time.
