According to his father's obituary, Jack was living in Etchison, MD, in 1984. The Post [Frederick, MD], p. A-4 (24 Aug 1984). His mother's obituary stated the same information. The Journal (28 May 1985).

      The Post [Frederick, MD], p. D-6 (13 Jul 1985):
"ESTATE AUCTION, Real Estate and Contents, Saturday, July 20, 1985 *** Selling the complete undisturbed household of over 50 years belonging to the Estate of Nellie I. (Jack) Snouffer, Personal Representative...."

Letter to the editor, The Frederick [MD] Post, p. A-6 (29 Mar 1993):
"In response to 'What about special heterosexual treatment' published Tuesday, Feb. 23:
"First let me begin by clearing up a very cheap and ignorant statement by John Patrone; quote 'filthy heterosexuals.' Apparently he is not aware of the real meaning of filth.
"If he and his type think they are the greatest for serving in the military, then why did they hide and only come out at night or at very secret times to do their thing? Evidently they knew it was wrong and not accepted and would not be tolerated by us normal people (heterosexuals), and just for the record I served in the U.S. Army and only heard of one homosexual of [sic] an outfit of 500 men. Why, if you all are so proud of what you were then and are now, did you not come forth then (early '50s) instead of now when you have the U.S. government behind you? Cowards.
"Next let me comment on his phrase 'freaks of nature' (meaning us heterosexuals). I think Mr. Patrone should take time to look up freak in the dictionary.... And while you are at it also look up the word queer, then you tell me who is right....
"Let me finish by challenging the statement, 'I certainly don't want my children to learn of these people's practices and behavior.' ... Where did he get his children from, since he is not heterosexual and does not believe in heterosexuality?
"Instead of putting the shoe on the other foot as he expressed, I think he should put it in his mouth instead.
      "Jack Snouffer, Gaithersburg"
