    • The 1880 census lists an extended "Snauffer" family. It shows "Snauffer, Fannie," 17 years old, living with her second cousin George, 30, his wife "Mittie," 27, and their children Bettie and Robert A. Also in the household were her uncle Arch T, 61, a retired farmer, and his wife Rebecca D, 53. 1880 U.S. Census, Buckeystown Dist, Frederick Cnty, MD (T 9, Roll 509, stamped p. 8).

Of her father, Wm. J. Grove, HISTORY OF CARROLLTON MANOR, p. 143 (1928), states:
"John Benjamin Snouffer ... was married three times and was the father of twenty-two children. His first wife was Abbie Trail, his second wife was Malinda Moffett, his third wife was Annie Shreeve [sic]. [Children] Archibald and George [sic; Georgia] live in Oklahoma, Daniel in Colorado, Fannie in Kansas and Ashton on the Manor."

Helen Snouffer Brooks also reported, in 1989, that "Fannie" lived in Kansas.

The 1900 census lists her husband Allen R. Slocum, 39, born in Aug, 1860, in Illinois, living with his wife of 18 years, "Francis," 36, born Jun 1863 in Maryland, and Kansas-born children: May L., 17, born Feb 1883; John B., 15, born Oct 1885; Allen L., 13, born Mar 1887; Fay B., 10, born June 1889; and Nora E., 9, born April 1891. Allen worked as an insurance agent. 1900 U.S. Census, Louisburg Twsp, Montgomery Cnty, KS (T 623, Roll 491, stamped pages 258B & 259A).
