- The 1900 census lists her parents Frank Nelson, 51, born Sep 1848 in Sweden, and Mary A. Nelson, 46, born Jan 1854 in Sweden. Frank emigrated to the U.S. in 1868; Mary in 1866. Living with them were their Iowa-born children: Mabel A, b. Mar 1877; Al L, b. Jan 1879; "Chas E," 19, b. Jan 1881; Fred W, 12, b. Aug 1887; Martin, 9, b. in [Aug??] 1890; and Effie M, 4, b. In 1910 the census listed her parents, Frank Nelson, 62, a tailor, and his wife Mary, 56, living with two children: Fred, 22, a railroad brakeman, and Effie, 14. 1910 U.S. Census, Boone, Boone Cnty, IA (T 624, Roll 392, stamped p. 124).

In 1930 the federal census records Effie Myklebust, 34, living with her husband Harry, 31, and baby boy Harry, 2 & 4/12 years old.
