    • The Gettysburg [PA] Times, p. 4 (28 Aug 1965):
      "Surprise Party
"A surprise birthday party in honor of [his wife's uncle] John N. Sell ... was held Sunday... [in] Hanover [PA]. Refreshments were served to ... Mr. and Mrs. Laverne P. Louey and children, Christine, Gary and James...." (Accessed via www.Ancestry.com: Jun 2011).

His and his wife's tombstone recites that during WW II he served in the U.S. Navy, 1945-1946, and also in the U.S. Army, 1947-1948. The inscription reads: "I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith, there is laid up for me the crown of righteousness. 2nd Timothy 4: 6-8."
