    • Evaline's great-granddaughter Jan Tigrett wrote that her great-grandparents were John Norris and Evaline Danley. (Email from Jan Tigrett, jagrett1@yahoo.com, to Wm. C. Snouffer, 28 May 2011.)

      The 1900 U.S. Census lists John Norris, 41, a farmer, born May 1859, living with his wife of 20 years, "Eva," 36, born July 1862; and 6 children: Ralph W, 17, b. Jun 1882; Jessie, 16, a female, b. Sep 1883; John, 14, b. Jul 1885; Roy, 13, b. Jan 1887; Frank, 9, b. Oct 1890; and Nellie, 7, a female, b. Sep 1892. The parents and all of the children were born in Illinois. 1900 U.S. Census, Bristol Twsp, Kendall Cnty, IL (T 623, Roll 313, stamped p. 24).

      Sometime between 1905 and May, 1910, the family moved to South Dakota, and John and Evaline had had one more child.

      The 1910 census lists John, 51, a farmer, and his wife of 29 years, "Evaline," 47; and children: John H, 25, a teacher; Roy J, 23, an engineer; Frank H, 19, a farm laborer; Nellie E, 17; and Robert E, 5, born in Illinois. 1910 U.S. Census, Redfield Twsp, Spink Cnty, SD (T624, Roll 1488, stamped p. 206).
