  • Notes
    • The Montgomery County [MD] Sentinel, p. 3 (8 Feb 1895), reported: "The Dawsonville Literary Society met at the home of John B. Byrd. The persons mentioned are ... Mrs. Edwin R. Allnutt,...." See: John D. Bowman, Guide to Selections from the Montgomery County [MD] Sentinel, 1893 - 1896, p. 103 (2007). She was quite active in the Society, which apparently met monthly. E.g.: Sentinel, p. 3 (8 Mar 1895; Bowman, Guide ... 1893-1896, p. 108; Sentinel, p. 3 (29 Mar 1895); Bowman, Guide ... 1893-1896, p. 111. The Sentinel noted, p. 3 (26 Apr 1895), that "The last meeting of the season of the Dawsonville Literary Society was held on the 19th.... The names mentioned were ... Mrs. Edwin R. Allnutt...." Bowman, Guide ... 1893-1896, pp. 114-115.

She also was involved with local politics, as the Sentinel reported, p. 3 (30 Oct 1896): "A meeting of Democrats in Dawsonville on last Monday [26 Oct] was 'largely attended', with many ladies present. Names mentioned were ... Mrs. Edwin R. Allnutt,..." Bowman, Guide ... 1893-1896, p. 187.
