    • New York passenger lists record that the Wakefield family arrived in New York on on 24 Apr 1921 aboard the Caronia, which had sailed out of Liverpool, England, on 15 Apr 1921. The family consisted of Wilfred Wakefield, 36, an auditor from the city of Hull; mother Mary, 36; and children: Winnifred, 16, a "millner;" Edith Violet, 14, a "book binder;" Wilfred Wakefield, age 10, a "Sojoholar" [sic: scholar]; and "Mariam," 8, a "Scholar."       According to the 1930 census, her brother Wilfred Wakefield, 20, born in England, was living with her sister Winnifred (Wakefield) Chord, 25, also born in England, and her husband of 3 years, Edmond Chord, 25, born in Minnesota. Living with them too was Edith, 22, also born in England, and a "roomer," an older German widow.
