    • The 1930 census lists Richard as a 2-yr old boy living with his parents in St. Paul, Ramsey Cnty, MN. 1930 U.S. Census, St. Paul, Ramsey Cnty, MN (T 626, Roll 1119, ED 103, p. 16B).
    • In 1940 the census shows his parents, Charles W. Snouffer, 40, and Claire A, 39, together with the following children: Richard C, 12; Raymond W, 12; James E, 10; and Gerald A, 7, all born in Minnesota. 1940 U.S. Census, St. Paul, Ramsey Cnty, MI (T 627, Roll 1998, stamped p. 1774 B and p. 1775).
    • In the late 1970's Richard's son was shot and injured when riding in a truck the father owned. See, Richard C. Snouffer, Jr., Richard C. Snouffer, Sr., and Nancy Snouffer... v. Charles O.       "Richard Snouffer, Jr., and his parents, Richard Snouffer, Sr., and Nancy Snouffer, appeal a summary judgment dismissing their complaint against Viking Insurance Company of Wisconsin for personal injuries Richard, Jr., received while he was a passenger in a truck insured by Viking. Richard was shot by Charles Williams, a homeowner whose property was being vandalized. The circuit court concluded that Viking's policy did not provide coverage for Richard's injuries because the injuries were not causally related to the use of the truck. We agree ... ***
      "The facts are undisputed. Richard and two friends were passengers in a truck owned by Richard, Sr., and driven by Steven Snouffer, Richard, Jr.'s brother. Steven stopped the truck in front of Williams' house. While he and Richard remained in the truck, the two friends left the truck and knocked over Williams' mailbox. Williams emerged from his house and, just after the two friends reentered the truck, Williams fried a pistol at the truck. The bullet ... struck Richard. *** "

      "Richard C. Snouffer, 63, ... died Sunday evening, February 10, 1991 at a local hospital. He was born July 9, 1927 in St. Paul, Minn., to the late Charles W. and Claire (Ihrig) Snouffer. He served with the U.S. Navy during World War II from 1944 to 1946. He was employed by Milwaukee Road for 20 years, retiring in 1976. He was a member of the Brotherhood of Locomotive Engineers.
      "Survivors include two sons, Richard, Jr. "R.C." (Joan), Green Bay; Steven (Pattie), Fitchburg, Mass.; two daughters, Leslie, Green Bay, Susan, (Rudy), Ottawa, Ill.; four brothers, Donald, Mesa, Ariz.; Raymond, St. Paul, Minn.; James, Mesa, Ariz.; Gerald, Green Bay; one sister, Kathy Schafer, Green Bay; eight grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and many friends....
      "He was also preceded in death by an infant brother, Nicholas.
      "Friends may call at Lyndahl Funeral Home.... There will be no formal funeral service."
