    • Obituary, «i»Kendall County [IL] Record«/i» (26 March 1902):

      "MRS. SARAH ERVIN, widow of Joseph Ervin, died Saturday morning [22 Mar] at the residence of her son, with whom she was living. The funeral took place Monday afternoon from the house and the remains were brought here for burial in the family lot of the Oswego cemetery. Rev. Mr. Lord of an Arurora Presbyterian church performed the funeral rites there and Rev. W. A. Montgomery the services at the grave here. The Ervin family came here from Ohio in 1854 and settled on a farm about three miles northeast of here; the husband died seven years ago. A son and daughter -- Cyrus Ervin of Aurora and Mrs. G. M. Croushorn of this place -- are the survivors of the family. Deceased was 79 years of age, and was one of the good mothers."
