    • The 1900 census records her parents' family as James and Marie Hastings: James Hastings, 47, born Mar 1853 in IL, living with his wife of 21 years; Marie A, 48, born May 1852 in IL; and the following Illinois-born children: Hugh H, 17, b. Jun 1882; Myrtle E, 16, b. Nov 1883; Ella M, 14, b. May 1886; Mary E, 12, b. Oct 1887; Anna E, 11, b. Feb 1889; William H, 8, b. Nov 1891. Also in the home were James' sister Isabella Hastings, 51, b. Apr 1849; and a "boarder," John Kerr, 40, b. Jan 1860 in Ireland, who was a farm laborer. 1900 U.S. Census, LaPrairie Twsp, Marshall Cnty, IL (T623, Roll 328, stamped p. 133).
    • The 1910 census lists her parents, James Hastings, 57, and Marie A, 57, and their children: Hugh H, 27; Myrtle E, 26; Ella M, 23; Mary E, 22; Anna E, 21; and W. Henry, 18, together with James' sister "Isabel," 61. All had been born in Illinois. James was a farmer. Hugh also was a farmer. Myrtle, Ella and Anna were school teachers. 1910 U.S. Census, LaPraire Twsp, Marshall Cnty, IL (T 624, Roll 311, stamped p. 123).
    • In 1920 the census shows "Robert Russell," 34, a farmer, living with his wife Anna, 33, and 2 children: Ruth, 7; and Thomas, 5. All had been born in Illinois. 1920 U.S. Census, LaPrairie Twsp, Marshall Cnty, IL (T 625, Roll 391, stamped p. 230).
    • The 1930 census lists her husband "Robert T Russel," 45, together with "Anna H," 41, and 2 children: "Ruth E," 17; and "Tom H," 15. Robert still worked on his own farm. The census records that Robert and Anna were married about 1909; when they married, he was 24 and she was 22. 1930 U.S. Census, Victor Twsp, DeKalb Cnty, IL (T 626, Roll 510, stamped p. 90).
    • In 1940 the census records "Robert T Russell," 54, a farmer, living with his wife "Anna H," 51, and their daughter "Ruth E," 27. 1940 U.S. Census, Victor Twsp, ED 19-45, DeKalb Cnty, IL (T 627, Roll 793, stamped p. 491).
    • The DeKalb County death register indicates that "Anna Russell" died in that county on 25 Jun 1968. The Social Security Death Index provides that Anna Russell (SSN 358-32-9426; issued by IL) was born 23 Feb 1889 and died in Jun 1968.
    • Obituary, The DeKalb [IL] Daily Chronicle, p. 2 (26 Jun 1968):
      "Sandwich - Mrs. Robert (Anna) Russell, 79, 205 N. Main, Sandwich, died June 25, 1968 in the Sandhaven Nursing Home.
      "She was born Feb. 23, 1889 in Marshall County. She had lived in this vicinity since 1919, coming here from La Prairie. She taught school for five years prior to her marriage on Aug. 30, 1911 to Robert Russell. He preceded her in 1946.
      "Surviving are two children, Mrs. Robert (Ruth) Lincoln, Grinnell, Iowa and Thomas Russell of Waterman, also three grandchildren and three great-grandchildren, and a sister, Mrs. Mary McCleery of Sandwich.
      "She was a member of the United Presbyterian Church, Somonauk and an active member in the W.C.T.U.
      "Final services will be Thursday, June 27, at 2 p.m. in ... Sandwich....
      "Burial will be in Oak Mound Cemetery...."
