      "Zane Alan Dick passed away peacefully after a long struggle with cancer on Sunday, September 2, 2007, at his residence in Olympia, Washington.
      "He was a former resident of the Shelton area for more than 25 years and a lifelong resident of the State of Washington. He attended school in Entiat, Washington and graduated from Highline High School in Burien, Washington. Zane married Levadna Nyrine May on March 15, 1951; she preceded him in death in December of 2006.
      "He served in the Merchant Marine during World War II and traveled extensively around the world while on-board ships. He then spent over 30 years as a merchant seaman.
      "He was also employed by the Berg Mine and packed supplies for their use near Wrangell, Alaska. He then became employed by the Simpson Timber Company, retiring from there. His hobbies included hiking, hunting, fishing, and lots of camping.
      "Zane is survived by his daughter, Nancy Kelly, and son-in-law, Don Kelly, of Olympia, Washington; sons, Dennis A. Dick, of Chehalis, Washington, Kelly Z. Dick, of McCleary, Washington, and Gale R. Dick, of Harrington, Washington; brother, Maurice Dick, of Seattle, Washington; seven grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren."
