    • Lela's name, "Lela Louise McCartney," is written on the death certificate of her unnamed baby son, who was born and died in Sep 1927. (See Ohio Death Certificate # 53860; 7 Sep 1927).

      The 1930 census lists "John C." as a 33 year old man, born in Ohio, and living with his wife Lela L, 37 and son Edwin E, 4 1/2 in Madison, OH. 1930 U.S. Census, Richland, Madison Cnty, OH (T 626, Roll 1863, ED 19, p. 20B).

      "The Ladies Aid Society of the East Mansfield United Presbyterian church met yesterday....
      "Mrs. Curt Snouffer, president, conducted the meeting.... Mrs. Snouffer and Mrs. Weaver were named to the committee to pack Christmas baskets...."

      "The Ladies Aid society of the East Mansfield Presbyterian church met Thursday.... The meeting was conducted by the president, Mrs. Curt Snouffer.

      "Mrs. Lela L. Snouffer, 71, of 604 Park Avenue East, was admitted to General Hospital for treatment of head injuires and facial cuts following a head-on crash ... today ....
      *** Police said the accident occured [sic] when Mrs. Snouffer attempted to turn onto Marion Ave. while headed west on Park Avenue.... The accident is still under investigation. Mrs. Snouffer was reported in fair condition...."

      "Mrs. Lela Snouffer, 73, ... widow of John C. Snouffer, died early this morning at the Mansfield General Hospital following a two-month illness.
      "Born June 27, 1892, in Findlay, she had lived in Mansfield most of her life.
      "She was a member of the First Christian Church.
      "Surviving are one son, Edwin Snouffer, Tuscon, Ariz.; two grandchildren, Curtis and Lee Snouffer, both of Tucson; a sister-in-law, Mrs. Ralph Fox of Tiffin...."

      Funeral notice, News Journal [Mansfield, OH], p. 3 (24 Dec 1965):
      "Funral [sic] services for Mrs. Lela Snouffer, 73, of 604 Park Avenue East, widow of John C. Snouffer, who died Thursday in Mansfield General Hospital, will be held ... Monday at 3 p.m.... Burial will be in the Maple Grove Cemetery, Findlay...."

      According to the Social Security Death Index, Lela Snouffer (SSN 271-24-7566; issued in Ohio) was b. 27 Jun 1892 and d. in Dec 1965 in Ohio.
